Wangfujing is a popular tourist attraction and commercial street in the center of Beijing. Why is this place named Wangfujing? Because in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, many ministers' residences and palaces, namely Wangfu, were already located in this place. There is a well in the middle of the street, which namely Jing, so the two were merged and the place was named Wangfujing.
In the past, this area was very prosperous, with major bookstores and shopping malls located here, but gradually it declined and became a place with more tourists than local residents.
