The animals in the zoo are only separated from us by a glass. When we watch animals, are we looking at the animal in the cage, or is the animal looking at us in the cage?
羁鸟恋旧林，池鱼思故渊。
The birds love the old forest, and the fish in the pond think about the old abyss.
The zoo is the attraction that everyone dreamed of when they were young. When we were young, we liked to see all kinds of animals. All kinds of animals are presented intuitively in front of us with different appearances and living habits. We will be attracted by their colors and dynamics. Whether it is the animals in the venue or the animals performing animal performances on the booth, we did not think too much about what those regulated behaviors and small spaces meant to the animals at that time, we just thought it was interesting.
This group of photos was taken on a hot summer day, and I photographed the animals confined in a narrow space through the glass blurred by the crowd. In zoos, many animals cannot enjoy a controllable living environment on their own, and can only hide in the small shadows to enjoy the cool. Inside the glass are scattered and lifeless animals, and outside the glass are enthusiastic crowds of viewers.
The human reflection reflected on the glass and the animals inside the glass, the gap between them is just a piece of glass. When we observe animals, animals also observe us. As far as animals are concerned, aren't we, as spectators, animals living in a larger cage?
